Some clients are reluctant to reveal their budget, either because they think that influences the design fee, or they don’t know what their garden may cost.
Design Fee
The amount of work in each job depends on the size of the garden and the client’s aspirations, the fee I quote will be based on input by me, my staff and studio resources; the design cost is different for each garden. After the initial meeting and hearing your aspirations I will provide a fixed quote for the concept design.
As a guide, a concept design fee for a small garden with uncomplicated features and simple planting can start at £850, with higher costs for larger, more complex gardens.
Overall cost
Television garden makeover programmes don’t give a real appreciation of the cost of and time for garden design and construction.
Developing the design concept into the master plan with supporting detail plans is necessary for contractors to understand what you want and to quote firm costs.
