A beautiful garden that suits your lifestyle adds an extra dimension to your home. Investing in a professional garden design garden unique to you will mean both landscape and planting are in harmony.
Initial Visit
During the initial visit you can tell me your ideas, and we can discuss how to make the most of your budget. This is a free visit with no commitment from you and I will provide a fixed quote for developing a concept plan.
Consultation Meeting
We will talk in detail about what you want from your garden, how it fits in with your lifestyle and your preferred palette of shapes and colours. This often takes one or two hours, I also like to take photographs of the existing elements.
Garden Survey and Site Analysis
The detailed garden survey provides the basis of measurements and levels for all following drawings. Results from the soil chemical test inform the nature and range of planting choices.
Concept Plan
The concept plan is a scaled and coloured plan of your design. My design experience brings shape, form, hard landscaping and outline-planting into a cohesive whole for you. The plan is initially presented in draft for discussion with you and is then finalised. We will discuss material choices and features to be included on the master plan.
Master Plan
Once all decisions are finalised the master plan turns the concept plan into your final layout with the chosen materials. This is the document that, together with the detail on the plans below, helps the contractor provide you with a construction quote.
Detail Plans
To guide the contractor during construction the Setting Out Plan shows dimensions for your new layout. The Heights and Levels Plan shows terracing, slopes and steps. Elements such as water features, pergolas or gazebos may need individual Construction Drawings. Project Monitoring during the build is an additional service I can provide: I will make regular visits during construction and report to you on progress.
Planting Design
Detailed choice and selection of plants and planting for focal points, year round interest and screening bring the garden features and hard landscaping into harmony.
Planting Plans
You may want a planting plan showing plant names, numbers and positions.
My rough pencil plans are used when positioning plants for planting, a copy can usually be made available but you may prefer a drawn up copy as illustrated.
Plant Care Guide
A bespoke plant care guide can be put together, tailored to the plants in your plan.
